Hantus are particularly dangerous during Light Snow weather, especially on the outdoors maps of Maple Lodge Campsite and Camp Woodwind, as ambient room temperatures will generally be lower if the fuse box is off, boosting their speed during a hunt. Thus, it is important that players get away from the ghost (room) as soon as a hunt begins, as the Hantu can quickly catch someone within its vicinity. In general, Hantus will be most powerful within and near the ghost room, where low and freezing temperatures are most likely to be.
Temperature plays an important role in both identifying and defending against a Hantu. On Nightmare difficulty, a Hantu will always have Freezing Temperatures as one of its two pieces of evidence, as it is required for the Hantu's differentiating trait of freezing breath to appear. Weakness: Hantus move slower in warmer areas. Strength: Lower temperatures allow the Hantu to move at faster speeds. These are the strengths and weaknesses as listed in the journal: When the Hantu's ghost model is visible during a hunt, it will emit freezing breath near its head in any room as long as the breaker is off. Unlike most other ghosts, the Hantu does not have line-of-sight acceleration during hunts.

Players should investigate quickly though, as the ghost will immediately begin a cursed hunt, which cannot be prevented, after freeing itself from the Summoning Circle. Players can use this to complete goals that contracts might require of them, such as experiencing a ghost event or acquiring photographic evidence of ghosts. Players will only be able to activate the Summoning Circle in Phasmophobia once, and they will need to bring a lighter with them to do so. The summoning will only occur after the fifth candle on the pentagram is lit, but lighting any one of these candles will deplete some of the players' sanity in Phasmophobia.Īfter lighting all five candles, the ghost will be transported to the Circle and remain trapped there for a few seconds. Although some cursed possessions in Phasmophobia are difficult to spot, the Summoning Circle is by far the easiest, as it looks like a big red circle on the floor around a pentagram.
